A Two-Year Goal is Reaching It’s Completion

I’m finally completing a goal that I’ve had for over two years. It’s something that I set out to do when I got into podcasting in early 2005. My foray into podcasting began when I first saw the word “podcast” in Bob Baker’s indie music tips newsletter, The Buzz Factor.

I googled the word podcasting right away. It quickly became apparent to me that podcasting was going to seriously shake up media, communication and online marketing. I had to be in the center of it. I began researching everything I could about the medium.

Podcasting appealed to me for many reasons:

  1. As someone who loves to teach it gave me an effective way to share information
  2. As someone with a background in audio engineering, it gave me an outlet for my audio production skills
  3. As someone who loves to create, it gave me a creative outlet
  4. As an internet marketer, it gave me a way to attract traffic and build relationships online
  5. As an a former software engineer, it gave me an outlet for my technical bent

Since getting started in podcasting, my path has taken many unexpected and exciting turns. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey, but one of my original goals remains unfinished: to create a multimedia course to help podcasters achieve their business objectives and businesses to achieve their podcasting objectives. This goal is about to reach its completion. The course will be the culmination of over two years of podcasting research, creation and consultation.

The course will also allow me to leverage my time better. I’ll be able to teach a larger number of podcasters at once as opposed to one-on-one consulting (which I currently don’t have enough time to fulfill the demand for). In addition, podcasters will be able to get the full benefit of my consultation at a fraction of the price.

To help in the creation of the course, I recently sent a survey out to my Podcast Mastery Newsletter subscribers. The purpose of the survey was to find out what the top needs were for every podcaster. The response far exceeded my expectations. It was clear that there was a strong interest in the course content.

If you haven’t filled out the survey, please take a few minutes to do so here. After you submit the survey, you’ll have an opportunity to sign up for the early notification email list. Subscribers to this special email list (separate from my newsletter list) will get an exclusive sneak peek at and a special offer for the course… you want to be on this list.

When I launch the course in July, a two-year goal will be fulfilled. Stay tuned!

    Jason,

This is really a small world! I didn’t know that you first heard about podcasting via Bob Baker and his indie music tips! I’ve been a “cybercolleague” of Bob’s for years now, and a new fan of your IBM podcast, so to finally meet both of you during his NYC visit was a real treat! So yes, musicians DO listen to your podcast too! Thanks for sharing all that great info!
