I’m a big proponent of building an email list of your listeners. Wide adoption of RSS is still a ways away, but everyone has email. Not to mention, it’s just a good idea to have multiple ways to reach your market.

Feedburner has launched their new Feedburner Email service. Just another great feature from their camp…and it’s free. If you use Feedburner, this is a quick and easy solution for sending email updates to your listeners when you post new episodes.

The Portable Media and Podcast Expo just won an award for Best New Trade and Consumer Show from Expo Magazine’s Expo Awards. Congrats Tim and the TNC New Media team. That’s very exciting for you and the whole podcasting industry.

If you’re at all serious about podcasting, then I highly recommend attending. Last year was fantastic and I have a feeling that this year will be ten, if not a hundred, times better. The Podcast Expo takes place this September in Ontario, CA (no not Canada) just outside of Los Angeles.

PodcastLogo.com has announced the winner of their podcast logo contest conducted by a German podcaster. The logo was chosen from 94 submissions and voted on by over 3000 participants internationally. The intention was to offer a picture that podcasters could put on shirts, buttons, moonboots or whatever else to help promote and broadcast their love for podcasting. I’m sitting in my favorite neighborhood cafe on the Upper East Side of New York City where I live. There are some French speakers sitting next to me. I love New York for all the cultures I rub elbows with on a daily basis. I’m finding myself distracted since I understand French and love the sound of the language.

But the real reason I came here is to write my book on podcasting. I needed a change of scenery to get the juices flowing. I haven’t been very vocal about this book yet, but, suffice it to say, there are ideas in it that I’ve not seen in any other book (or site) on podcasting. I’m really excited about it. I’ve been writing this at a feverish pace to get it out on schedule but still pack as much content in as possible.

I’m just about done writing the manuscript. It will be introduced at the Book Expo in May. Book buyers are ordering it now. You’ll be able to find it at all the major book outlets in Aug.

What’s the topic? What’s the title? More details soon….stay tuned.
