You want to be recognized as a go-to authority and attract more significant opportunities to share your message. But what needs to change to get you to that next level?

5 biz growth multipliers for coaches and consultants

There comes a time for every coach or consultant where they start to feel the limitations of their business model.

You want to grow your income without working harder.

You want to extend beyond one-to-one services to impact more lives.

You want to attract a steady flow of new clients rather than chasing clients down.

You want to be recognized as a go-to authority and attract more significant opportunities to share your message.

But what needs to change to get you to that next level?

Business Growth Multipliers for Coaches and Consultants

As I’ve worked with coaches and consultants as a business strategist, I’ve noticed that there are vital shifts you need to make in your business model to remove the limitations and spark exponential growth as a coach or consultant.

Each of these shifts is a multiplier that can exponentially increase your business growth.

Look at the list of multipliers below to see where to focus your efforts to unlock new growth.

If you’d like to get support in making these shifts, then my Catalyst Mastermind could be a good fit for you. I’m looking for a couple more people to round out the group starting at the beginning of October.

You’ll find info about the mastermind group at the bottom of this post.

And now, here are the exponential growth multipliers for coaches and consultants.

1) Generalist Positioning → Specialist Positioning

When your ideal client encounters your brand, do you immediately grab their attention? Can they quickly see how you can help them? Is it abundantly clear why you have the absolute best solution for them?

Most coaches and consultants are not specific enough about who they serve and how they serve them. It’s tempting to cast a wide net. But this is the kiss of death.

Do your referral partners, colleagues, and influential people in your network understand who your ideal client is, how you create value for your clients, and what sets you apart from other solutions in the market?

If not, then this needs attention right away.

2) Chasing Clients → Inbound Lead Generation

What would happen to your business if you took a break from connecting with potential clients? For many coaches and consultants, their pipeline of prospects would dry up quickly, and their income would dip.

Exponential growth requires a marketing strategy that takes you from chasing the tide to standing on the beach as the tide of clients comes to you. You need a steady flow of inbound leads signing up for your email list.

Do you have an email list that is consistently growing? If not, this is a high-value strategy to put in place immediately.

3) Custom Solutions → Signature Process

Do you have a codified system for working with clients that are easily duplicated and consistently generates results?

Exponential growth requires you to have a signature process. This doesn’t mean you create a formula. Your signature process should consist of frameworks that make room for each client’s circumstances (as long as they fit the definition of your ideal client).

Can you draw a visual representation of your process that your intended clients would quickly and clearly understand?

Do you have a proven process that you use with each client to generate consistent results?

4) Selling Time → Leveraged Time

Your income and impact will be limited if as long as you only do one-to-one client work. Exponential growth requires creating offers like online courses, group programs, licensed IPs, or certifications that allow you to serve more people with less of your time.

The test here is straightforward. Do you generate all of your revenue from selling your time? Could you take on three times as many clients and still have the capacity to create value for them?

5) Jack of All Trades → Unique Genius Focused

When starting a coaching business, you wear many hats out of necessity. Exponential growth requires you to delegate these hats to qualified team members so you can spend more time operating within your unique genius. You also need ample time to ideate and create to establish and grow your brand authority and visibility.

If you are a linchpin in every part of your business, then this part of your business needs attention. It’s a process. So ask yourself whether you are delegating things and freeing up more of your time regularly to realize a business that could keep going without you if you took a month-long vacation.

Unlock the Next Level of Business Growth

Looking at the list above, how does your business model score in each area?
